The Meeting of Inner Life and Cultural Evolution
by Anne Sweet
Anne Sweet is a long-time friend and creative collaborator whose work I deeply respect and resonate with. We first met over thirty years ago in the London community of an intensive spiritual movement focused on the vision of a collective form of awakening. Although the impersonal was the context for all relationships within that community, we soon realised that we “clicked,” and recognised a kindred-spirit closeness within that very experimental way of being together. Over the years—through some bumpy ups and downs—that early connection has evolved into a deep and enduring friendship, grounded in honesty, mutual discovery, and care.
In recent years, following our work within a small group exploring what is coming to be called the “We-Space,” our collaboration has matured into a joint offering: the Between-Us Groups—intimate, facilitated spaces where awareness becomes a living relationship and transformation arises through connection. Anne brings to this work a rare blend of clarity, depth, and warmth. Her writing and facilitation invite spirituality back into the fabric of ordinary life—where insight becomes embodied, relational, and ultimately cultural.
I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Anne Sweet, and to the passion and depth she brings to our ongoing collaboration and partnership. Here is Anne 'in her own words'. Please follow the link to her About page on Substack, where you can also explore her other writings.
