You never expect it
‘till it happens.
Like an electron
jumping to a new orbital,
awareness—open and vast—
sees the world afresh.
Thoughts and feelings,
pushes and pulls,
arise in a new container
greater than my usual Me.
My Me-ness
has expanded.
No longer just this body,
but the greater group—
holders of the field
of a deeply shared perspective.
Action no longer
impacts only me,
but affects all—
a greater responsibility.
Integrity, once
a personal choice,
now a profoundly
shared one.
This greater body
is sacred.
I cannot pollute it
with selfishness.
Little me
is even smaller now,
its pleas for specialness
barely audible.
My heart has expanded:
faces on a screen
now live in chambers
of my heart.
The shared field—
no longer just a view
but reverberating Love
that sees no other.
