True understanding
is the sensing of essence.
It is the recognition of resonance:
lightbulbs popping in the mind,
warm glows in the heart.
It is the flow of electricity
connecting the separate.
—The arising of Presence
as the medium of awareness.
—The clear window of clarity
as perception opens to
a place deeply intimate,
closer than close.
Words are crude attempts
to distil essence
into substance that can be shared.
Words may carry meaning;
they may also catalyse confusion.
Carefully crafted, they are transmission.
Used carelessly, they block.
The ultimate medium of exchange?
Silence.
